On May 8th 2013 the Reverend Stafford Low was instituted as Priest-in-Charge of the Chaplaincy of St Michael in the Gard.
Stafford and his wife Rosemary have worshipped with the congregation for more than seven years and when the previous chaplain retired Stafford was asked by the Church Wardens to consider taking up the appointment and following a successful interview with the Bishop to the Diocese in Europe his appointment was confirmed.
On May 8th Stafford was presented to the Archdeacon of France the Reverend Ian Naylor by the churchwardens on behalf of the congregation and and was then instituted to the appointment of Priest-in-Charge.
Following this service, a large number of the congregation, together with visiting clergy, both the Anglican chaplaincies from the surrounding area and local clergy from the French churches, attended a relaxed meal at one of the church members homes.
We wish Stafford, Rosemary and the congregation a great future as they continue to worship in this particular part of France.
