Fund Raiser

Our social committee are considering holding a promises auction on 20^th November 2011. The format of the day is proposed as follows:

·         1230 Appero

·         1300 Lunch

·         1430 Auction

Cost 9 Euros including wine.

We have many talented people in our congregation who could offer valuable promises.  Some initial thoughts:

·         Artists – paint something

·         Cooks – cook a dinner party for somebody or alternatively promise to make a cake for a special occasion

·         Gardeners – promise up to x hours gardening

·         Decorators – up to x hours worth of decoration

·         Handymen – up to x hours worth of general property maintenance.

·         Writers – write a short story specifically for a child’s Christmas or birthday present, mentioning the child and any pets

·         Drivers – A promise to drive someone to and from Nimes or Montpellier airport – ideal for somebody going back to the UK for a reasonable time

·         General – an offer to house-sit for somebody who has pets over here, who are going away on holiday and can’t take them

Jim Pearce who has agreed to run the auction will give some further information at our service on 4^th September.  In the meantime it would help us with our planning if you could let me know if :

1.      You could offer a promise to be auctioned.

2.      If you would attend the event and whether you would bring some friends.
